The largest university in Latin America, UNAM, commissioned a new 1:1000 scale model for their Visitors Center, which welcomes thousands of visitors every year. We conceived of this project by including various components – drone footage, video-mapping projections, 3D modeling and historic research – in order to portray the rich cultural heritage of the university and its prominence in Latin America.
This project was directed by Daniel Filloy, a recent collaborator in the Mexican Pavilion of the Venice Architecture Biennale of 2016, and composed of programmers and filmmakers. I was in charge of art direction, UI design and animation. From the beginning, it was a technologically challenging project, we had no precedent and had to learn as we went, but this made it much more rewarding. The project is currently on display at the Visitors Center of the UNAM campus.
